Description
Come, Immanuel: A Journey of Hope is a locally produced Advent devotional from the Jesuit Institute South Africa. This slim A5 booklet offers gentle, day-by-day reflections that guide you from the First Sunday of Advent through to Christmas Eve. Each reading is rooted in Scripture (NIV), accompanied by thoughtful questions, prompts, and simple prayers to help you watch, wait, and prepare your heart for the coming of Christ.
Written by Gillian Hugo and Sean van Staden SJ, the reflections explore the season’s central themes of hope, peace, joy, and love with clear, pastoral insight. Along the way, familiar Advent companions—Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, the centurion—invite you into deeper contemplation as their stories unfold. Occasional poetry and original photography enrich the journey, making this booklet well-suited to personal devotion, family prayer, or small groups.
A meaningful companion for anyone seeking a grounded, faith-filled way to enter into the rhythm of Advent.
A beautiful keepsake for the Advent season.
