Renew your Baptismal Promises

Renew your Baptismal Promises

We hope the new year has been everything you hoped for and more!

Last week we celebrated the feast of the Baptism of the Lord - a reminder of God’s love and our call to live as His children.

Just as Jesus was baptised in the Jordan, we too were marked by the waters of baptism, cleansed from sin, and welcomed into God’s family.

This feast invites us to reflect on our own baptismal promises and how we are living them out today. It is a moment to renew our commitment to Christ, to seek His guidance, and to grow in faith, hope, and charity.

May this celebration inspire you to embrace your identity as a child of God and to live fully in His love each day.

Wishing you a week filled with reflection and growth,
with love from Surrender Gifts

THE BAPTISMAL PROMISES (just in case you've forgotten them)

Do you reject Satan?

And all his works?

And all his empty promises?

Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth?

Do you believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary was crucified, died, and was buried, rose from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father?

Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting?

God, the all-powerful Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has given us a new birth by water and the Holy Spirit, and forgiven all our sins. May he also keep us faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ for ever and ever. Amen.
