As we enter the final week of Advent, our waiting draws close to fulfilment. The fourth candle reminds us that at the heart of Christmas is love — the love of God who chose to dwell among us, sharing fully in our humanity.
Week 4 Reflection: The Candle of Love
Advent love is not sentimental; it is sacrificial. It is the love of a God who steps into history, born in a manger, to redeem His people and draw us back to Himself.
Scripture for reflection:
- John 3:16–17 – God’s saving love for the world.
- 1 John 4:9–11 – Love revealed and shared.
- Matthew 1:18–25 – The birth of Jesus, Emmanuel.
As Christmas approaches, take time to dwell on the Gospel story of Christ’s birth. Allow God’s love to fill your heart with gratitude — and consider how you might reflect that love through patience, generosity, and compassion toward others.

A Short Kiddies’ Reflection
This week we light the Love candle.
Love means caring for others the way Jesus cares for us.
You can say:
“Jesus, thank You for loving me. Help me to love others too.”
Maybe give someone a hug or do a kind thing today to share Jesus’ love.

May your Advent be a season of quiet reflection and renewed faith.
Stay tuned each week as we explore the four candles of Advent:
Week 1 – Hope | Week 2 – Peace | Week 3 – Joy | Week 4 – Love
