As we enter the third week of Advent, the season invites us to rejoice. The pink candle reminds us that even in waiting, God fills our hearts with joy — a joy rooted not in circumstances, but in His unchanging love and the promise of Christ’s coming.
Week 3 Reflection: The Candle of Joy
This week centres on joy — the joy proclaimed by the angels on the night Christ was born, and the joy that still echoes in our lives today.
Scripture for reflection:
-
Luke 2:8–14 – “Good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”
-
Psalm 16:8–11 – Joy in God’s presence.
-
Philippians 4:4–5 – “Rejoice in the Lord always.”
If this season feels heavy, busy, or lonely, allow God’s Word to restore your joy. Advent reminds us that Christ enters our world — and our hearts — with a joy no hardship can take away.

A Short Kiddies’ Reflection
This week, we light the Joy candle which is pink.
Joy means being happy because Jesus loves us and came to be with us.
You can say: “Jesus, thank You for bringing joy to my heart.”
Draw a smiley face or a pink candle to remember that Jesus brings joy to the world.

May your Advent be a season of quiet reflection and renewed faith.
Stay tuned each week as we explore the four candles of Advent:
Week 1 – Hope | Week 2 – Peace | Week 3 – Joy | Week 4 – Love
