As we move into the second week of Advent, we continue our journey of preparation for the coming of Christ. Each candle draws us deeper into the mystery of this season, inviting us to slow down, reflect and make space for God’s grace in our daily lives.
Week 2 Reflection: The Candle of Peace
The second week of Advent invites us to rest in Christ’s peace – not simply the absence of conflict, but the deep, steady peace that comes from knowing God is with us. It is a peace that holds firm even when life feels uncertain.
Scripture for reflection:
-
Isaiah 11:1–10 – The promised Messiah who brings justice and peace.
-
John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.”
-
Philippians 4:6–7 – A peace that “surpasses all understanding.”
This week, take time to pray for peace in your family, your community, our nation, and the world. Entrust your worries to God, allowing His Word to still your heart and centre your days.

A Short Kiddies’ Reflection
This week, we light the Peace candle.
Peace means trusting Jesus to take care of us so our hearts can feel calm and safe.
You can say: “Jesus, give me Your peace in my heart today.”
This week, draw a dove – a little sign of peace – to remember that Jesus is always with you.

May your Advent be a season of quiet reflection and renewed faith.
Stay tuned each week as we explore the four candles of Advent:
Week 1 – Hope | Week 2 – Peace | Week 3 – Joy | Week 4 – Love
